"Raymond's Run" Newspaper Article

Over the weekend, students need to finish writing the rough draft of their newspaper article describing the May Day event in "Raymond's Run." Students can use the peer-editing checklist to revise and edit their work. We will be typing these articles in Computer Lab 212 on Monday.

Last Week of First Quarter

We will have a 20 point quiz on "Raymond's Run" on Tuesday, 10/25. (Advanced English: 25 points)
The quiz will consist of multiple choice and short answer questions on the story and vocabulary.

On Thursday you will take your Bell Work Quiz (30 points) for the first quarter. Make sure that you have all nine weekly bell work assignment sheets. If you are missing any, please pick up what you are missing on the front table before Friday and have all nine sheets completed.  You can also go to the Handouts Page and scroll down to "Weekly Bell Work" for an extra copy of any assignments you are missing.You will be permitted to use these nine sheets on the quiz, so don't forget them! Make sure the dates are filled in! The Bell Work Quiz will be your last grade for the first quarter.

Library Books

All students need to have their AR books read for November 18! Books are due back in the library on the 16th. Be ready to take a 10 point quiz on your novel on the 18th. Your book project assignment will be announced closer to the the due date. Make sure that you bring your library book to class every day.

Plot, Conflict, and Literary Terms Test

The test on plot, conflict, and literary terms will be on Thursday, 10/13. Use the Quizlet flashcards 2 posts down and your notes from class on plot and conflict to prepare for the test. Make sure you are able to give examples of the different types of conflict!
